Pag 152…In the 1820's Jean- Baptiste Wallet, Pascal Wallet's brother and the inventor of the “mecanoptique”, set up an optician's laboratory at 73 quai del'Horloge in Paris. He specialized in lenses for reading glasses, lenses and oculars for binoculars, long focus lenses, light condensers, and after Daguerre's discovery, photographic lenses. It seems that Wallet supplied the Chevaliers with lenses for manufacturing photographic objectives for Daguerre (9).
